Litigation News

Phillip Byron Jones successfully defended two of the five defendants in a complex shareholder dispute, wherein a minority shareholder sought to recover $83,000,000 in damages in a real estate development.  The case was litigated in the Chancery Court for Davidson County over three weeks and, at the conclusion, the Trial Court dismissed all of the Plaintiff’s claims and required the Plaintiff to reimburse our client for their legal fees.  The ruling was later Affirmed on Appeal, in a 39-page Opinion, in the case: Rock Ivy Holdings, LLC vs. RC Properties, LLC, et al., 464 S.W.3d 623 (Tenn. Ct. App. 2014), appeal denied (June 20, 2014).
